Diabetic nerve pain?

You may qualify for a clinical trial of an
FDA-approved, non-drug treatment.
See if HFX is right for you.

Diabetic nerve pain (also called painful diabetic neuropathy, or PDN) is one of the most common complication of diabetes. Diabetic nerve pain tends to develop gradually over time, often affecting the feet and/or legs.

Signs of diabetic nerve pain in the feet/legs may include:

  • Shooting or burning pain in the feet and legs, especially at night
  • Pins and needles sensation in the feet
  • Numbness or loss of feeling in the feet

Left untreated, diabetic nerve pain can lead to even more serious complications. And while pain medications can help, for many people they do not provide adequate relief and often cause unwanted side effects.

If you suffer from diabetic nerve pain in your feet and/or legs, you may qualify for a new clinical study being offered at select US centers. The study is evaluating Nevro HFX, a small FDA-approved device that works inside your body to quiet the pain signals. Participants in the study may receive the Nevro HFX device and study-related care at no cost.

What is Nevro HFX?

Nevro HFX is a small device that works inside your body to quiet pain signals and provide significant long-term pain relief.

Nevro HFX has been proven to safely treat chronic pain for over 10 years in over 100,000 patients by delivering mild electrical pulses to the nerves, interrupting the transmission of pain signals to the brain, thus reducing pain. The procedure is minimally invasive & outpatient, which means you go home the same day.

A key benefit of Nevro HFX is that you can “test drive” it for 5 - 7 days to decide whether it is right for you. The temporary Nevro HFX system is placed through a simple outpatient procedure. Your doctor will use a needle to place thin flexible wires, called leads, beneath your skin in your back. The leads connect to an external temporary device worn under your clothes. If you are satisfied with your pain relief after the 5 - 7 day test-drive period, you can choose to have the device implanted. This is done through a quick, reversible procedure to place the device and leads beneath the skin.

Doctors at select centers in the US are accepting participants for a new clinical study of Nevro HFX. The study is for people who struggle with diabetic nerve pain in their legs and/or feet. Participants in the study may receive the Nevro HFX device and study-related care at no cost.

Why Participate?

If you suffer from diabetic nerve pain in your feet and/or legs and are interested in a non-drug treatment option, you may qualify for a new clinical study. The study is evaluating Nevro HFX, a small FDA-approved device that works inside your body to quiet the pain signals.

If you qualify and choose to join the study, you may receive:

  • Evaluation of your diabetic nerve pain by a local physician specialist
  • The Nevro HFX device and most study-related care at no cost
  • Compensation for your time and travel to attend follow-up visits at your study doctor’s office
  • The opportunity to help advance a new medical device technology to potentially benefit others suffering from diabetic nerve pain
